Why then are we writing a response if we should simply listen to hurting people? The purpose of this article is to interact with the assertions and claims being made by The Daily Beast, a self-described tabloid. To share my heart, I truly hope that each one of these people can find a church where they can spiritually thrive, or at the very least, find peace in their lives. Hopefully, I could be “quick to listen and slow to speak” (James 1:19). I don’t know many of them personally, but if I was talking to them in person, I hope I would do my best to listen and try to understand their pain and heartache. My heart breaks for the hurting people interviewed in this article.
